Karnataka RTI watchdog likely to get new head today

A three-member committee headed by chief minister B S Yeddyurappa is scheduled to meet on Friday to appoint the next State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC) and at least four information commissioners to the Karnataka Information Commission (KIC), the right to information watchdog in the state. The committee which has higher education minister V S Acharya and leader of opposition in the legislative assembly Siddaramaiah as other members is to meet at 4pm to select the next SCIC.
