Government sends letter to governor for Ramanand Tiwari’s removal

The government on Friday sent a letter to governor K Sankaranarayanan seeking the removal of information commissioner Ramanand Tiwari in connection with the Adarsh Housing scam. “The government has started the process of Tiwari's removal," an officer from the Mantralaya said. "As per the norms, it is mandatory for the government to recommend the sacking of Tiwari to the governor." A source at Raj Bhawan said that the governor was out of town till January 11. But that is unlikely to come in the way of Tiwari's removal. The process might take some time though as the papers will be thoroughly scrutinised.
