Corporator filed nomination with fake certificates
Suresh Shivaji Kulkarni, a NCP corporator from Navi Mumbai, had produced fake documents while filing candidate nomination form. This was revealed in a reply to a Right to Information (RTI) application. What's more, even his father and grandfather had allegedly obtained bogus school certificates for political purposes. The police and the Election Commission are looking into the revelation. The matter came to light when Santosh Shrimant Jadhav, a resident of ward no 42, same as Kulkarni, sought information through RTI last week. The caste verification department, Swar Gate, Pune, replied that Kulkarni's certificate was fake. Kulkarni known to be a Telugu Brahmin from Andhra Pradesh had claimed he was an OBC (Vadari) from Maharashtra.
