MM Ansari to Demit Office as IC on October 29

Information Commissioner M M Ansari, who was recently appointed to the three-member panel of interlocutors on Kashmir, will demit office on October 29 after a five-year stint with the transparency watchdog. An economist and education specialist, 58-year-old Ansari joined the Central Information Commission at the time of its inception in October, 2005. Ansari was Professor & Director, Hamdard University, 2004-05 before joining the Commission and held the position of Director of Distance Education Council,
Indira Gandhi National Open University for a period of three years. He also served as Senior Economist, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
