RTI activists’, Third Front deputations meet Governor

A deputation led by Dr Muzaffar Bhat, a Right to Information activist, called on the Governor, N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan, here this evening. The deputation comprising B. A. Malla, Tanveer Hussain Khan and Syed Basharat, journalist, discussed with the Governor the measures required for strengthening the RTI movement in Jammu and Kashmir.
The visitors also stressed the most urgent need for early constitution of the State Accountability Commission and the State Information Commission, by appointing reputed persons of high integrity. The deputation was informed that the Governor had addressed the Chief Minister for the appointment of both the Commissions, to promote transparency and thus weaken the foundation of corruption.
