SIC puts Noida authority in dock for delay in RTI implementation

Noida has finally fallen in line with the order of the State Information Commission (SIC). After the commission's repeated notices, one of the richest public authorities of the state, Noida Industrial Development Authority, has put in place the mandatory provisions of the Right to Information (RTI) Act. "They have complied with the order of the commission", said information commissioner (IC) Gyanendra Sharma. The commission had asked the authority about how many schools and hospitals were given the land on concession and under what terms and conditions. The public information officer (PIO) in his response has stated that more than 60 schools and few educational societies and 18 hospitals have been given the land. The authority has stuck to terms and conditions by asking schools and hospitals to cater to economically weaker sections and lower income groups.
