Mumbai varsity does not have record of ‘in-charge’ principals

The Mumbai University does not have any information on the colleges who do not have full-time principals. This despite a Supreme Court deadline to fill up vacant principal posts within six months. An Right to Information (RTI) application by the student wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) revealed this information. While the university has an account of the colleges with full-time principals, it replied to the RTI saying that in-charge principals are only for a period of six months to a year so they do not have the information. The MNS has now written to the university vice chancellor.
