Jaitley says he got Gopalaswami's letter to Prez under RTI law

It what would come as a rude shock to chief election commissioner Navin Chawla, who maintains that communication between his predecessor N Gopalaswami and the President should remain secret, it now emerges that the letter in question is already in public domain, with leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley claiming he had got it under RTI. On Wednesday, even as Chawla said that "in principle any communication from the CEC to the President must remain a privileged document", Jaitley said he got a copy of the letter through RTI last May. "I had asked for that letter through RTI in March which was denied in April. But after I appealed against it in the law ministry, my request was granted and I received the letter," Jaitley said
