Buldhana Municipal Council CEO fined Rs 56k for denying info

Former chief executive officer (CEO) of Alandi Municipal Council and the current the CEO of Buldhana Municipal Council, Sanjiv Ohal has been slapped with a staggering fine of Rs 56,000 for not giving information under the Right to Information Act (RTI). This is a first in terms of such a heavy fine being charged from a class-I officer in Pune Division. RTI commissioner (Pune Division), Vijay Kuvalekar has issued the order to Ohal to pay fine for not giving detail information within stipulated time to RTI applicants Sharad Murde, Dinesh Randhve and Ramkrishna Pawar. The trio had filed RTI requests for detailed information on illegal construction, public work and road widening works in Alandi Municipal Council. They had filed three separate applications.
