'Reveal House panel records'

Parliamentary committee records can be disclosed under the Right to Information Act after the report has been tabled in the House, the Central Information Commission (CIC) has ruled. It said records could be made public except in exempted cases where documents are declared confidential. RTI applicant Patanjali Sharma had sought a certified copy from Rajya Sabha of a rule of the Central Secretariat Services furnished to a parliamentary standing committee on home affairs by department of personnel. He said there were gross factual errors in the report which were adversely affecting his career advancement.
