78 MLAs never asked Q's in Assembly!

How serious our MLAs are attending the legislature session? Are they really debating the peoples problems on the floor of the Legislature? Says no a study conducted by a Bangalore based organisation. It has come out with a disturbing data on attending session and their participation in the debates.

As many as 78 MLAs have never asked a question during 46 days on which the House met. About 31 have asked less than five questions, while 35 have asked 20 or more questions. Only one MLA (Ishwar Khandre from Bhalki) has asked more than 100 questions.

These statistics compiled through Right to Information queries are revealed by a review of governance in Karnataka from June, 2008, to November, 2009, conducted by Daksh, a NGO, and released on Friday. Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde released the report.
