RTI helps ITI students find out about stipend delay
The Right to Information (RTI) Act helped students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Amreli find out why their annual stipend is not being given. According to details, Vishal Parmar, 20, a student who passed out of the ITI filed an RTI application to know why students eligible for government stipend had not been getting it since 2007. While ITI officials say the stipend will be given soon, Parmar feels if they are delayed they are of no use. "Most students who opt for courses in ITIs are from socio-economically backward classes and want to get into jobs as soon as the courses are over," he says.
