Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) hired a man for a key post without putting out any advertisement or looking for the eligibility criteria. The man went on to take many decisions that hampered the city's environment. This was brought to light by documents received through Right to Information (RTI) Act. Vinod Jain, an environment activist, had filed the plea on July 20, 2009. He wanted to know if any advertisement had been published in any newspaper for the post of Garden Superintendent, heading the Garden Department of PMC.
