10 lakh collected as fine from babus under RTI

As many as 100 Maharashtra government officials have been penalised and Rs 10
lakh collected from them in the last two years for not complying with the Right
to Information (RTI) Act. "We imposed penalties on 100 state government officials appointed as Public Information Officers (PIOs), for not giving information under the RTI Act, 2005," Maharashtra Chief Information Commissioner S V Joshi said.
