CIC asks ministry to disclose details on official`s suspension

The information and broadcasting ministry has received flak from the Central Information Commission (CIC) for not initiating an inquiry against its official even nine-months after his suspension and besides failing to provide him information on his RTI applications.

"Since the case is now practically nine months old and neither has an inquiry started nor a chargesheet served.... Therefore, in the interest of transparency, the commission directs the ministry to allow access to all files relating to suspension," said Information Commissioner O P Kejariwal.
